James Lyle Emmons
1948 - 2021

James Lyle Emmons, 72, passed away February 23, 2021 in Orem, Utah. He was born September 10, 1948 in Artesia, CA to Hollis James Emmons and Dolores Ilene Padelford. He married Lois Ann Terry on March 14, 1970 in Exeter, CA. After Ann’s passing in 2014, he married Dana Robison on October 14, 2017 in Orem, Utah.

Jim loved his grandchildren and had two full walls of portraits capturing their unique qualities. Each picture and frame was carefully placed to represent the way he thought about each of them, and how he wanted to see them every day, even if far away.

He had a passion for gardening, photography and doing service for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Orchard 6th Ward). He was full of quick wit and a humor that could sometimes shock the best of us. He had a knack for solving household problems, creating solutions that not many would otherwise think of.

He is survived by his wife, Dana, 5 children: Darcey Hawkes, Carey Crockett, Mark Emmons, Matt Emmons and Bethany Durham, 17 grandchildren, 3 stepsons, 3 step-grandchildren, a brother Hollis Jean Emmons and sister-in-law Susan Emmons.

Viewings will be held Monday, March 1 from 5-7pm and Tuesday, March 2 from 9:30-10:30am. A service will follow the Tuesday viewing at 11am. All events will take place at the Orchard Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 810 East 600 North, Orem, UT.

Gene and I are saddened at the loss of Jim. He was a great brother to big brother Gene. We are thankful that we got to spend his 70th birthday with him at Yellowstone. It was truly a memorable trip. Jim and Dana also made the trip for Gene's birthday party in Oregon. Wonderful memories of a guy who was full of wit. He always had a ready witty comment. He was fortunate to have such a wonderful family with great kids, grandkids and two women who loved him very much. He will be missed.

I am so sorry you have to go through this...again. To have the love of one man is a blessing, but to be loved twice is an even greater blessing. Know that the WW group is here for you.
